Nearly New Sales

Our popular children’s nearly new sale runs the second Saturday of every month in 2012, except January and August when we take a break. The sale is held at St George’s Hall, Cranley Gardens, N10 3AH (corner of Park Rd N8) and runs from 10.30am until 11.45am. Goods offerred include second-hand clothes, toys, books, DVDs and videos, and equipment for babies and children (we do not allow electrical goods or car seats).

The sales are open to non-members as well as members. Admission is 50p, and refreshments are available. Please note that for health and safety reasons buggies and pushchairs must be left at the entrance of the hall during the sale.

Information for stallholders

A stall costs £7.50 for members and £12.50 for non-members. You will need to book well in advance because sales are very popular.  You can book a stall online by following the links below:

• 12th May – bookings open
• 9th June – bookings open
• 14th July – bookings open

Please ensure that all items you are selling are of reasonable quality – i.e. jigsaws are complete, clothes are clean and in good repair, games work etc.

Car seats and electrical goods cannot be sold through this sale. This is a table top sale, if you have a large number of items please book two tables. If you are a member and have large items to sell, it may be more appropriate for you to advertise them in the Bargains for Sale section in our newsletter.

Set up for stall holders is at around 9.30am on the day of the sale.

Please help us to promote the sales as widely as possible – the more people who know about them, the more successful they are for everyone. Perhaps you could help us advertise them in your school or nursery newsletters, or perhaps you could you put a poster up a poster on local notice boards?

Bargains Email

Members can also advertise in our monthly Bargains Email. This is sent each month to all current members. Members may offer Up to 8 items (excluding used car seats) for sale or even to give away. This is a fantastic way to clear out those toys, clothes etc. which your children have grown out of, but are too good to throw away. Unlike eBay, there is no need to worry about postage – all our members are local! If there is something you need, put in a Wanted ad to see if you can get hold of it second hand.

Members can also offer or request childcare or related services. You may be able to find that elusive childminder, nanny or cleaner, complete with reference from another Haringey Families member!
