Welcome to Haringey Families!

Haringey Families is a non profit-making organisation set up to provide activities, events and services for the families who live in or around Haringey in North London. While most of our events take place in Crouch End and Muswell Hill, our members come from throughout the borough and neighbouring Camden, Barnet and Islington. The organisation has been running since 1963. Currently there are around 800 members. We arrange about 50 events a year. Above all, it is a very friendly and informal organisation, run entirely by volunteers. Welcome to our new website!

We are excited about our new website. Our aim has been to make it more user-friendly for members. Upcoming events are now listed on our monthly calendar pages. The groups noticeboard, past newsletters and articles have been made much more visible. Due to its popularity, the Bargains listings have outgrown the allocated space in the newsletter. From December, they will be distributed via a monthly Bargains Bulletin email to members only (first edition coming in the next few days!) so you can exclusively access those great deals more regularly and easily. The Bulletin will also include our regular noticeboard for you to advertise for help needed or wanted. After much debate, we have decided to keep the paper bi-monthly newsletter as members’ feedback shows that even in this digital age they … Read entire article »

The range of responsibilities of the governing board is broad; in recent months the governors of my daughter’s school have appointed a new head, organised the building of a … Read entire article »

It was then that a friend suggested Freecycle – at least everything listed there was being given away for nothing!! Freecycling, http://www.freecycle.org/groups/unitedkingdom/, has become an increasingly popular and fun way to get rid of your household clutter and to acquire things for free … Read entire article »
