Discounted tickets to see The Ugly Duckling up to 25% off

Haringey Families have organised a discounted group booking to see The Ugly Duckling at the Little Angel Theatre, London N1. The offer, exclusive to HF members, is for 20% off adult tickets (members price £8 for face value of £10) and 25% off child tickets (£6 for face value of £8). The performance is Sunday 8th July at 2pm.

A colourful and enchanting show, this classic Little Angel Theatre production is an audience favourite, and remains close to the spirit of Hans Anderson’s perceptive story. Accompanied by live music and voices, beautifully made puppets tell the story of the little Duckling who grows up feeling “different”. Meet Mother Duck and her charming family swimming in the moat, the wise Blackbird, the friendly Bug-Eyed Toad and the pompous Great Gobble-Gobble Turkey.

The Duckling has many adventures. You will wish him well as he leaves the farmyard for the big wide world, hold your breath as the hunters approach, and feel sad for him as winter closes in…but you will be full of cheers at the happy ending to this classic tale!

Running time: approx 1 hour 10 mins including interval. Please note this is performance is for children aged 3 years and over and that the theatre states children below this age will not be admitted to this showing.

To request tickets please email imogen@haringeyfamilies.co.uk stating ‘Duck’ in the title of your message. No tickets will be sent out. A member of the HF committee will be at the theatre 30 minutes before doors open to give you your tickets. The theatre has a free seating arrangement.

Summer Fun Day

The highlight of the Haringey Familie.s calendar every year, the Summer Fun Day will be held this year on Friday, 27th July.

You can expect all the usual attractions – the ever-popular ponies, bouncy castle, ice creams and lots of other rides.

Sleep Workshop

A sleep workshop conducted by Chris Wandrag.

Chris is an experienced Night Nanny who has worked with many families and children of all ages what they want and need – a good night’s sleep.

The session will begin with a presentation, particularly focusing on children between 6 months and three years. This will be followed by a Q&A session in which Chris will answer parents’ questions about their individual children.

The session will include lots of practical advice, strategies for dealing with your children’s problems, and many invaluable tips. There will also be a handout created specially for the event.

This event is open only to members of Haringey Families.

Haringey Families is a non profit-making organisation set up to provide activities, events and services for the families who live in or around Haringey in North London. While most of our events take place in Crouch End and Muswell Hill, our members come from throughout the borough and neighbouring Camden, Barnet and Islington. The organisation has been running since 1963. Currently there are around 800 members. We arrange about 50 events a year. Above all, it is a very friendly and informal organisation, run entirely by volunteers.

This year we will be holding the Haringey Families AGM immediately after one of our popular Nearly New Sales. We hope this new timing will entice you to come and find out a bit more about what Haringey Families have been doing over the last 12 months. It is also a time for change on the committee and we would welcome new blood. No matter what your background, there is always something that you can bring to Haringey Families and we welcome all help. You would be surprised at how much difference you can make by contributing just an hour or two a month of your time. There will be an opportunity to meet members of the existing committee who will be more than happy to chat to you about their roles.
